Another Brad Meltzer novel and it was good. This one showed a little behind the scenes of a presidential aide. Wow! That would be a tough job. It also got into a secret code that Thomas Jefferson created and some myths around the Freemasons.
Mitch, I have only one useful piece of advice (I have a lot of not useful pieces of advice. Ha!). Here it is: No matter what is happening with you there is always something else you can do—physically, mentally, or spirituality. ALWAYS! When shit gets really bad find, that one thing that you can control and focus on that. As long as it moves you forward in some way, shape, or form.
Jeri and I are in Utah visiting Cole and Mallory. We rode 11 miles. I ate a hotdog, chips, and 2 cookies. Then we rode another 11 miles. I think that will end up being roughly a zero-calorie gain or loss for the whole ride. But it was cool to see new views and hang out with them!
My moto for the last 18 months has been: “Don’t Let the Hard Days Win”. My other moto is: “1st Out Ride Cancer”. I am completely convinced that I can, through not only medicine, but also diet, meditation, and being in the best physical condition I can. Being in remission, is it tough to remember that I am NOT normal. So, when I lose focus on these things, this saying brings me back. And now I have a shirt where the bike is kind of blended in, but is completely obvious when I focus. Exactly what I need.
